How to migrate the data from an old PC to a new one

Replace our old computer with a new, radiant and Super contemporary hardware, is one of the best ideas that may have, since a new PC will be able to perform all tasks with much better speed and comfort, which gives as a result increased performance and profitability.

But unfortunately, start using a new computer is not as easy as unpacking, turn it on and start working, but that we will have to have some time to move into your new home all documents, programs and configurations which for years accompanied us in our old and dear PC. At this point, we have surely tempted us with the possibility to carry out a complete copy of the contents of the previous computer's hard drive, IE to clone it. However, this is one of the worst ideas that we can have, since in addition to the documents and others, also we will be loading in new PC all the conflicts and problems of the previous.

So in this article we will know which is the best way to migrate data, programs and settings from one PC to another without copying anything that may become a problem.

We mentioned above that clone a computer to take your data to another is a bad idea, since we would be also carrying all their problems, including drivers and settings for hardware that is no longer, with the consequent and immediate reductions in yield for the new PC.

Another problem that usually occurs is that of licensing, since by cloning would be also taking your operating system and your license to use. And if we have purchased a PC whose price includes the OS, it would be a real shame, as well as illegal.

No to cloning!

At this point, and as we have seen, the cloning is not the most appropriate, then we should do a little more effort on our part so that everything goes well. There are only a few minutes more, but with this we ensure that once the task, we can sit facing the new PC to work as if nothing had happened.
To begin, the first thing we need to do is add the new computer to the network or create a between the old and the new PC. While this may be an annoying process, the truth is that it is the fastest way to move files, and it will be very helpful.

The second step is to install on your new computer all the programs that we often use, caring for us to install only those who really have a practical use to avoid filling the PC with applications that do use never. The same with drivers, always taking into account to download and install the latest from the page of the manufacturer.

In the event that we have installed software such as Office, Photoshop, Illustrator, or tools such as these, would be a good idea uninstall them first from the old machine to avoid problems with the licenses.

Once this step is complete, it is time to copy our documents and personal files. If we ordered users, it is likely that we have stored our files in folders default system, that is, songs and albums in "Music", personal files in "Documents" and so on.

If so, the only thing we have to do is move the files from their original location to the new. Otherwise, we will take a little more time, and we could take this opportunity to sort the contents of its corresponding, which offers a lot of advantages.
